Step by Step
Suppose you work for a supermarket chain that has launched a new line of vegan products. You are now looking for a suitable person with wide reach on social media whose audience is interested in vegan lifestyle to promote the products.
- Go to the Discovery section of the main navigation
- Click on “Profiles”
- Check the box “Search profile by post content”
- Enter a search term into the input field (e.g. “vegan”)
- Select the category “Person”
Tip: If you get no or very few results, this is probably because the selected period does not contain enough posts with your search term. Select a longer period in the left bar.
The list of results shows all profiles that have used the word “vegan” in a post within the selected time period. You can now search the list for interesting personalities.
Tip: The displayed number of followers gives a first indication whether the influencer fits into your budget. Generally, the fewer followers, the cheaper the cooperation. Not everyone can afford to cooperate with Beyoncé. That is not a problem as smaller profiles (micro-influencers) are usually in a more active exchange with their community.
If an influencer interests you, click on it to take a closer look at the contents of the profile. You will then be taken to the profile’s detailed view where you can check what exactly is posted there, which posts have been received well or badly, which topics are mainly covered and much more.
In our “vegan” example Annelina – Vegan Yogi seems to be an interesting influencer. The profile has 127 thousand followers on Instagram and a strong post-interaction of 1.8%. Among the top posts are some vegan recipes and health tips. It might be worthwhile to start a cooperation to market the vegan products.
